DISTANCE TOOLS
Golf Club Distance Chart by Swing Speed
Build a personal golf club distance chart in yards or metres. Start with driver swing speed or distance, compare carry with total, then replace starter estimates with measured shots from your own bag.
Enter your driver measurement to create an editable chart.

How to use this tool
- Choose the input source and units, then enter your driver speed or known distance.
- Review each club and mark real measurements separately from modeled values.
- Compare gaps and conditions, then save, print or export your distance chart for the course.
How we calculate
Start with a driver-speed or distance input. The editable starter model uses 2.3 yards of driver carry per mph at its baseline efficiency, then club ratios. Environmental adjustments compare target conditions with each row’s reference conditions.
Worked example
A driver speed of 100 mph gives a baseline 230-yard carry. An assumed 8% driver rollout gives 248.4 yards total. An actual measured 7-iron row remains your measurement when driver speed changes.
| Input or rule | What it means |
|---|---|
| Low-efficiency reference | 2.0 carry yards per mph |
| Baseline reference | 2.3 carry yards per mph |
| High-efficiency reference | 2.6 carry yards per mph |
| Default driver rollout | 8% of carry; editable |
| Personal bag | 13 distance clubs plus a putter |
Limits and common mistakes
Launch, strike, wind, landing surface and individual lofts are not fully modeled. The table is a starting reference; measured shots are more useful.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between carry and total?
Carry ends at first landing. Total includes roll, which varies substantially with conditions.
Will changing driver speed erase my measurements?
No. A measured row stays separate until you explicitly return it to the model.
Why does altitude change plays-like distance in the opposite direction?
If the ball carries farther, a target at the same measured distance can require less normal-condition carry.
Can I use metres?
Yes. Unit changes convert the same canonical measurement rather than repeatedly rounding stored values.
What should I do with a large distance gap?
Check several good strikes and your club selection. Gap flags prompt a review; they are not a diagnosis.
